About Surrey Ikenobo Group

The committee are formed of students who are keen to encourage the local communities to experience the holistic nature of this beautiful art form. One of the main aims of the group is to invite a Senior Professor from Ikenobo Headquarters, Kyoto, Japan to extend the ‘Groups’ knowledge and skills of the beautiful Ikenobo Floral Art and to appoint more teachers to promote this art in the local community.

Sometimes the committee organises open events which are related to studies of Ikenobo Floral Art, such as Origami, Japanese brush painting, Calligraphy and Tea Ceremony.

The group also invite speakers from the Horticultural Society to give talks on trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants and flowers inorder to broaden their horizons
